Every day is a weekend
Duration: 3-5 days | Flexible Dates Lodging: Upper North Saskatchewan River Valley | Banff National Park
While Banff and Lake Louise offer iconic scenery and draw many visitors to Canada's Rocky Mountains, Alberta holds many other remote wilderness destinations with unique landscapes, wildlife, and true isolation.
Locations, like sacred Upper North Saskatchewan River Valley, require more effort to access and offer untouched natural beauty, but it promises a different, deeper connection for those willing to explore beyond Banff and Lake Louise region that infuses and offers rather a commercialized, Disney-like experience blended into the natural beauty.
As Canada's 4th largest province, Alberta entices travelers with over 600 lakes, 75 provincial parks, 5 national parks. We are one of the most scenic provinces in all of Canada.

Forgotten Frontier Tour
The place where the old bighorns go to hang out
For early pioneers to the Rockies, facing winter was a true battle for survival, with no room for error many describe it as a "frozen hell". Settler and iconic Guide like Jimmy Simpson had to insulate his cabins using a mixture of mud, moss, straw, and horsehair. The gaps in the logs allowed cold wind to whistle through, proper insulation was a matter of life or death.

[ TESTIMONIALS ]
Jerzy Maslanka is a fantastic tour guide for Banff, Yoho and Jasper National Parks. For one week with my wife we had Jerzy as our private tour guide. We do not have enough words to thank him for the unforgettable tour. He picked us up at Calgary airport and took us to our hotel. The next day we went to the dinosaur museum at Drumheller, one of the best I saw in my life, the badlands, native reservations, etc. all done at our pace, we are 73 and 83, full with descriptions and histories of each place. Besides, he is a great photographer that took the infinite photos my wife asked. We went to multiple sites in Banff, Yoho and Jasper National parks, spent time at lakes such as Emerald, Peyto and many more, and walked to spectacular waterfalls. Went to the Columbia glaze, Tango falls between others, Kootenay Plains and Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site, etc. Finally, he drove us to Edmonton to visit our friends where we stayed the rest of our trip.

Responsible Tourism is the mindset that guides me to offer these tours and workshops, and I believe in promoting sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact for the benefits of tourism with the imperative to protect the park's natural resources and character. I prioritize conservation over commercial interests.
All tours are designed in ways which reflect the natural, cultural and the geological character of a place – its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage and people who live there. I am hoping that while I can offer these exclusive private tours, true passions and purpose will be presented to those who decided to support mine and these hospitality providers that are collaborating with 55plusTravel and Elite Brands Culture Discovery Tours.
As a small tour operator, I face genuine challenges due to Parks Canada's restrictions (access to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise), which favor larger-capacity commercial vehicles. This situation can disadvantage smaller businesses and affect the visitor experience, even if the regulations are intended to manage overcrowding and protect the environment.
Travelers often feel gratitude and satisfaction after a Canadian Rockies tour with a knowledgeable and thoughtful guide and for many, booking a tour creates a mix of excitement, anticipation, and occasional anxiety. Reading the reviews below, it may help you when thinking of booking, going for a tour and support me.
